China Star - Broxbourne

Worst restaurant ever. Gave us food we had previously explained we were allergic to and were very rude and wanted to charge us extra to provide us with the food we had originally ordered!!! Insane

The food was very tasty, the service was very slow considering that the restaurant was very busy, the portions have shrunk which wasn’t an issue but the owner seemed to get angry when you ordered a few more dishes, he threw the menus to an empty table beside us which was not very professional making us feel uncomfortable and not welcomed.

Haven't been since pre Covid. Food was lovely.Better than in past. But such a shame that they allowed patrons to enter walk around with no mask! It wasn't just a few I wld say that we and a few others who did we're in the minority.

I regularly order from China star as there food is absolutely beautiful. But it is hard to comment on such food when it never arrives. I had ordered my takeaway 3 hours prior to writting this and my family of 4 are crying tears of starvation to the point of breaking point. Very disappointed to have to write this review because when it does arrive it is biblical, I can only describe it as drinking a tea at perfect temperature or connecting a football and knowing it’s going in when it leaves the boot. When China star delivers IT DELIVERS but sadly today its marmite on toast.

They charge you £1.30 each for a glass of free tap water. A charge that is allowed because they're essentially charging you for the use of their cups. They're obliged by law to give free tap water but choose to charge customers for the use of their glasses. I've never been to a place that does something so distasteful. I had a great meal but seeing that charge left such a bad taste in my mouth. The food was nice, the service was nice. The place is already very expensive at £18.90 per adult, so to be charged £1.30 for tap water is absolutely ridiculous. I won't be revisiting. You can enjoy a buffet for way less money elsewhere.
