Joya - Brooklyn

We’ve been return customers to Joya for 13+ years because every dish is always excellent. On our visit tonight, I specifically ordered a green curry because it had eggplant in it but the dish arrived without eggplant. The staff was extremely helpful and quick to amend the issue.Food: 5/5

Been over 10 years since I've been here, and the service and food are still excellent. Food comes out so hot and fresh. Had to take my kid to the bathroom when the food came out and when we returned it was still hot.Food: 5/5

So sad to write this review. I used to love coming here. It's not the same... : curry was watery, the green mango salad wasn't green nor spicy, sweet or salty fish sauce). Like literally was just wet.. No flavor... The pad Thai was a huge portion but when I asked if they had any tamarind in the back and the answer was a negative...I knew the flavor wasn't going to be there and it wasn't. ? Music was too loud and all from 12 years ago I remember from highschool). And they wouldn't give us hot water... ??‍

I followed this restaurant from their first opening Song in Park Slope. I moved to New Jersey and would still travel it to Brooklyn just for their food. The food was amazing then. Now, it's so miserably disappointing and ridiculously overpriced.From 8 plates that we ordered last night only the spicy pad see yu was good. Every fried rice meal was disgusting. It was mainly chunks of white rice with spots of color here and there. The pineapple were these massive inedible chunks, the main vegetable was carrots and barely cooked chunks of cabbage. The shrimp had zero seasoning/flavor and tasted like flour. The calamari was inedible, the chicken spring rolls were tasteless, the wrap was rubbery and filled with dried teeny bits of chicken.Each person's meal, aside from the pad see yu was thrown out out last night. It was so disappointing to see one of absolute favorite restaurants take such a poor quality turn like this. Could finally say that we would no longer be wasting money there anymore.
