Bidra med feedbackReally good food! Place is nice and clean. Will definitely come back here again to try other things on the menu. We ordered 3 popular dishes which were all delicious! Satay tofu (app) Nasi lemak Okra belancan with shrimp
Best hainan chicken and Chinese/malaysian food in the city! super affordable and good food. the personal was also friendly! come back!
A tastier Malaysian restaurant compared to the handful on 86th st. Price wise is about the same. Faves include roti canai, grilled satay chicken and beef, Ipoh fried pearl noodles, sarang burung, coconut rice and chicken flavored rice. The ehhh- Hainanese chicken texture was a bit off, but the dipping sauce was really good. Having had the Kang kung (morning glory) belacan twice, it may be a bit tough/fibery. Mango smoothie was a bit too sweet and had artificial taste.
We started eating at Ipoh after Nnonya closed indefinitely. Addicted to beef rendang, we tried every place we could find in Brooklyn on our quest. After an expensive and lengthy scouring, we settled on Ipoh. Ipoh is pretty new, only been here a couple years. Their menu is short and more casual than other Malaysian restaurants. Their beef curry over rice is a perfect serving. As with most slow-cooked stew meats, it all depends on when you order. If the pot happens to be new, the meat will be toufj and may have gristle chunks. If it has been cooking long enough, the indigestible gristle will have melted into precious collagen. My spouse says it is like a hug to the tummy. The comfort is like chicken soup minus everything unappealing about said soup. We have tried some of their other entrees and the black pepper steak is a tasty treat. My spouse also likes the green curry chicken and the beef cubes in red coconut curry. I love the three veggie dish with okra and eggplant...juat wish they made a vegetarian eggplant as I don't always want a ground pork-fish seasoning. Good but strong. The Mango smoothie is balmy, sweet, and refreshing. Real ripe fruit ground with ice. pure and delicious. If there were a frequent flyer program we would get discounts! My cells are at least partially made of this rendang by now. Thanks for opening during pandemic, and offering a better product than the established place. Would love a veg version of the eggplant okra. It took me a long time to take a photo that didn't look ugly..it's the nature of brown stews.
Really relaxed Malaysian spot with a good mix of Thai, Malay, and Southern Chinese cuisine. Waitstaff is fast and very friendly. Highly recommend getting the chicken rice if you are getting a side order of rice, they infuse it with their chicken broth and ginger and it's such a good flavor and pairs with a lot of their dishes. Roti canai is a bit small so get 2 if you're hungry. Overall very tasty and affordable food.
