Bidra med feedbackEasiest 5-star rating I?ve given in awhile. Falansai is an incredible modern vietnamese/south east asian restaurant that really pushes the boundaries of what one would consider vietnamese cuisine, in the best way possible. To get the full experience, gowith a group and order the dac biet feast. Its an incredible deal (about $80pp for 5-6 courses) and comes as an absolute unit ofa tasting menu. Highlights were a wonderfully balanced spicy coconut curry accompanying a perfectly fried black bass, and agrilled vietnamese pork chop that was pretty life-changing. The spring roll vermicelli salad was no chump either. Everything wasbrought up a notch or two by the excellent chili fish sauces and pickles that just kept coming. Solid selection of natural winesas well, and the only regret is that i didnt get to try the cocktails which looked good. Cool patio in the back for warm summernights.
Great flavors, great ambiance, great service! I love the intense flavors of the food but the dishes may taste better when consumed with alcohol. I ordered from the a la carte menu. Green curry: oh so flavorful! Love the evocation of a lotus ????pond in the representation. Included rice is cooked perfectly is this such a tall order for the majority of supposedly goodrestaurants?! Refreshing pickles ordered separately. Lamb skewers were magnificent! Confit duck necks are intenselyflavorful and the meat is truly tender fall-off-the-bone As advertized! . Need more zesty acid or accompanying alcoholic drinkto unlock full potential. Coconut pudding dessert with shaved hibiscus ice and jackfruit, great, refreshing but not tooilluminating.
One of the better restaurants in NYC for a while. It's an interesting Vietnamese fusion with clean and distinct taste and great service. My favourites were tuna rice cracker and duck necks among the smaller dishes and for the larger ones the mackerel incurry and pork with rice and egg were divine. They also have a great selection of wines and the decor is super cool. Definitelyone of the nicer Bushwick places at the moment
Run don?t walk to Falansai! The tasting menu was hit after hit after hit. The Vietnamese Mexican fusion of flavors, all the different side sauces and pickled veg? ah incredible. I could not stop gushing over the food. We loved our server and the winepairings. The restaurant?s vibe is that perfect laid back brooklyn vibe with artistic flair and great lighting. My favoriteculinary experience this year.
Modern take on Vietnamese food! Love the ambiance, had a live Dj when we were there. Food were delicious and friendly service. Its on the pricier side but the quality makes up for it.
