Bidra med feedbackMy second time there. Everything was amazing. I highly recommend this place. We were celebrating the life of New Orleans legend Dr. John, this was the right place at the right time.
The one downside is that the food took forever, i was starving when I arrived so the wait didn't help but the food though... AMAZING! everything seasoned to perfection, moist chicken, excellent flavors, it made me understand why it took so long! Also no alcohol is a bit of a downer lol but overall I would go back!
They didn't have our OpenTable reservation and were serving a pre-fixe menu. We were told that the wait would be about 40 minutes to an hour. It was mother's day so our options to go elsewhere were non-existent. We were given the option of using the pre-fixe menu or their regular dinner menu. I appreciate that the owner recognized that we may not have been prepared to spend $60 on their pre-fixe menu and gave us the option between the two. The food was amazing. No one in our party of 7 complained about the taste or quality of the food. As I write this review I am thinking about just how tasty my meal was but the experience wasn't fully enjoyed. Partly because of the group of people I was with but mainly because of the timing of the service. After waiting the hour to be seated we then waited for over an hour and a half for the appetizer which came out in waves as opposed to all together or close in timing. We waited for a long time just to be served water. Then waited again for out entrees. I noted that a family that had a reservation for their pre-fixe were seated after us and left way before us. I'm want to believe that the reservation is what caused the issue but I think the kitchen may not be large enough to churn out the meals at a fast enough pace. They appear to make everything to order and nothing is just sitting around waiting under a heat lamp. This in and of itself makes me say this place is worth it. I plan to go again but this time I will be prepare myself in advance for the wait and probably visit on a day that is less popular. I mentioned earlier that the food was amazing. It really was a great meal and I can't wait to go back.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, beautiful decor, and friendly staff. I highly recommend this place.
We (4) chose the restaurant because it was nearby People’s Institutional AME church located at 628 Madison Avenue,Brooklyn , NY. After a wonderful worship service we walked Bro the restaurant. The place was well lit and very inviting. The ambiance was wonderful! The wait staff need some training but they were pleasant. We had a reservation, but no one asked her if we had one or not. We were seated right away that was about 12:30PM. The food was very tasty, but the brunch portions were very skimpy. Not what we expected, since this place use to be called Bert’s a soul food catering, take out and eat in place prior( I recalled this later) . I will return for dinner to see if the dinner menu is tasty and more plentiful. Sorry I don’t take pictures of my food for Instagram and this. Trust me the presentation was decent. The Biyou Classic was served in a oversized dish a .5 cup of grits with cheese , one chicken sausage split down the middle , 1 egg. And a homemade biscuit. Wish me luck with the Dinner menu
