Bidra med feedbackWe were driving through Brockway and it was lunch time. Both of us prefer local places rather than national chains. Bill 's Place, on the 100% corner, had lots of cars in the lot, sign said sandwiches, etc. Yet something was weird. Walked in and it 's a gift shoppe with a few tables and small kitchen. It was the week before Thanksgiving, the shoppe was piled high with crafty-holiday-y kitch-y ****. most of which was Made in China, The owner immediately told us she had only a few of the listed menu items, because she was so busy due to the annual holiday festival that draws people from all over. Huh? Wouldn 't you have more options then and maybe a part-time helper? Ordered tuna salad sandwich and cup of beef barley soup. My companion had egg salad sandwich (that had egg shell in it). Soup was from a can; the pumpkin caramel cheesecake we shared came out of a Cysco box. Owner 's shrill chatty patter with the largely ladies that shop clientele was constant background noise. All in all a pretty terrible meal that was not inexpensive. As we left, we regretted having turning our noses up at the Subway sandwich shop across the street.
This place isn't primarily a restaurant. Many people come in hoping for an elaborate dining experience, but it's really more of a family-owned establishment for those looking to enjoy a cup of coffee to kick off their day or indulge in a slice of pie. The store is adorned with lovely home decor and fabrics, offering plenty of reasons to visit. The staff are warm and genuinely friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The prices are quite reasonable too! With such wonderful people and a great environment, I highly recommend it!
The staff at this restaurant are truly wonderful! It must serve great food at reasonable prices, as it's always busy, even though I’ve never eaten here myself. I often stop by for work.
This is a very welcoming restaurant to visit. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere. Please note that starting January 1, 2023, Bill's Place will be closed for renovations, with hopes to reopen in early spring.
