Shiraz Persian - Bristol, City of

After moving to Bristol, my partner and I were in search of a Persian restaurant in the city. We ended up at Shiraz on a weekend night about two weeks ago. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. My partner, who is Persian, particularly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. After dinner, we enjoyed tea and hookah on their back terrace, which was also delightful. We will definitely be returning to Shiraz in the future.

The appetizers at this restaurant were fantastic, but the main dishes were a bit lacking. I ordered the aubergine in lentil and tomato sauce, which was tasty, but it was served with only a large plate of white rice. My friend, who eats meat, had a nice salad with his dish. It would have been great to have the option of wholegrain basmati rice or bread instead. Additionally, the prices were a bit on the high side.

The lamb shoulder is fresh, piping hot, and amazing. It may be on the expensive side, but definitely worth it for those looking for authentic Iranian cuisine.
