Bidra med feedbackWe went to have a few drinks but found it difficult to relax due to noisy children running around. The decor had a theme of cars, with modern parents carrying babies in slings and mothers breastfeeding while also having alcoholic drinks in front of them. This would have caused outrage in a different setting, but here it seemed to be seen as acceptable by the middle-class clientele. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I would not return for a drink on a Sunday afternoon.
We had never been to this pub before, but we decided to check it out with our son after a new play area opened nearby. The pub is a great spot with a good selection of beers, a menu at reasonable prices, and a brewery with a slide for children and plenty of space to run around. The food was typical pub fare (fish and chips, eggs with ham and potatoes, lasagna, etc.) but all for around £5, which is a great deal for this area of Bristol. They also had a good menu for kids at a similar price point. The service was very friendly and attentive, and we will definitely be back if we're hungry and in the area.
My family and I have been regulars at this pub for over 30 years. We have had some fantastic landlords in the past, such as Jamie and Andy, and the current ones are taking a break from their B pub/restaurant in Pensford. The pub will be closed until October for construction work. Tonight, the tenants are hosting a Spanish night after a successful Mexican week. I hope the pub continues to thrive in the future, but I hope the brewery invests wisely.
