Bidra med feedbackAfter being recommended by multiple people, we decided to visit this charming restaurant. We were not disappointed; each dish we tried was fabulous and truly authentic. We started with a sharing platter, which was supposed to be for 2 but easily fed 3 (or 4 if not too hungry). Our mains all arrived at the same time, but this worked out well as each element complemented the others perfectly. The breakfast and lunch menus also look promising, and we plan to return to try them soon. Unfortunately, we did not have the chance to sample the tempting cocktail menu as the restaurant was closing early. It would be great if they stayed open a bit later.
Went in May for a company celebration. It was my colleagues choice as she had reached a ten year milestone with our company. We didn't known that Jasper had recently sold the restaurant to concentrate on his charitable work. The restaurant is no frills relying instead on a very warm welcome and food that we all pronounced as simply delicious.
Upon arriving we advised the waiter that we had booked a table for 6 and was told we could have any table (leaving us thinking was our table even booked!! . Eventually we were asked for a drinks order. A pint of Red Stripe was more like three quarters of a pint. Gin and slimline tonic had no ice, no lemon and no fizz. No large cans of coke only mini's until they ran out. The food arrived at the table over an hour after we had ordered it. In fairness it was hot and lots of flavour. Two out of the three sides we ordered arrived and the waiter left to serve another table. It took over 10 minutes for the waiter to come out of the kitchen at which point we caught his eye and asked for the second dish of coleslaw at which point he said we don't have any left. Again the waiter disappeared and was not to be seen so one of us went to the toilet (which could do with being updated and knocked on the kitchen door as we were looking to order desserts but there was no answer. Eventually we gave up on getting puddings, got the bill and went to a fast food chain down the road for pudding which was much quicker and cheaper. The waiter had no interpersonal skills, any idea of customer service and no urgency. Think twice about visiting if you are looking for quick and professional service.
Enjoyed a lovely meal here. I had oxtail with rice and peas and a ginger rum cocktail. I would have loved to try a desert but did not have the room for it.
Jerk chicken to die for. Good atmosphere and frieindly service. Salt fish fitters so tasty. Ample portions and cocktails available too. And reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit
