We wholeheartedly recommend Big Ricos and give it a top rating. We have been there several times, and this restaurant is always impeccably clean. The staff is consistently friendly, polite, and helpful, and the food is always fresh, delicious, and excellent value for money.

Big Rico's is located in the quaint village of Compton Martin, set within the beautiful Chew Valley. They serve wonderful breakfasts, including a "breakfast in a bun” and traditional options, as well as high-quality fish and chips available for takeaway, along with children’s meals. They also offer a Sunday roast and takeaway roasts. If you're not in the mood for fish and chips, you can try their omelettes, salads, or even a Labrador's dish. Their afternoon teas are excellent as well, featuring delicious homemade cakes and sponges, and if fruitcake is on offer, make sure you don’t miss it! Ice cream is also available, along with fantastic milkshakes. The restaurant is spacious, bright, and airy, with a warm and friendly welcome. There's a lovely front-of-house atmosphere you'd expect from an upscale hotel! The strong local support enjoyed by Rico's and its staff is a testament to its quality. The area is beautiful for visitors, with plenty of attractions nearby, and Compton Martin is conveniently located on the A268, the main road to Weston-super-Mare.

I dropped by on a Wednesday afternoon for a quick bite to eat after reading good reviews about Big Ricos and seeing on their website that they were open all week. However, the parking doors were firmly shut, there was no one around, and a notice on the door indicated that their hours of operation are only on Fridays and weekends. This was a huge disappointment, as we were looking forward to enjoying some delicious snacks. Instead, I had to head over to Ring O Campanas, which was another letdown. It just wasn't our day! As a result, I can't really recommend Big Ricos, but maybe I would consider giving them another try in the future. To get TripAdvisor to accept my review, I had to give them one star, but honestly, under the circumstances, zero stars would be more accurate.
