Bidra med feedbackGreat local dinner. Probably not the spot if you have food allergies.
Sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich was freshly cooked and delicious came with a decent amount of home fries for $5 and it was ready in 5min. I'll dine in the next time, and try a few more dishes on the menu. I'm curious to know how they are. There's a lot going on, on the walls but you can tell that it all holds a story and some history to go with the rest of the restaurant.
It’s a quirky greasy spoon from a bygone era. Cheap eats. Not fancy but great value. The proprietor Manny is a hoot as he interacts with his regular customers. Salt of the earth diner experience. Well worth a visit.
If you are in the mood for a cheap breakfast (less than 8 dollars for a breakfast sandwich, domestic frits and a coffee) and it is between 7 a.m. and 2 a.m., don't look further than the humble Van's Spa. This restaurant, run by the legendary Manny, is also a local “tee” and entertainment spot as it is affordable breakfast place. Always a great experience, and when you see the menu, you will say “Wow!” too!
The food is great. The service is great. The atmosphere is fantastic. But nobody comes for that. You go to Van's Spa to see Manny, and Manny didn't disappoint. If you have ever worked in the food industry, you understand the contempt for your customers. Well, Manny doesn't hold back the thoughts that all the food industry workers had, which is fantastic. He has no bureaucracy to report. This is his restaurant and he can say what he wants whoever and it is a fantastic, humiliating and beautiful experience to see this angry little man(ny).
