Bidra med feedbackYou don't need a passport and a trip to Lebanon to discover this fabulous food! This is my third visit and again Rouj lived up to it's previous reputation of good excellent food and service. This time I booked the inside booth for a more private dining experience for my staff Christmas Party and we were well and truly looked after and indulged with the Lebanese banquet which is great value. I also booked privately a belly dancer to which the restaurant accommodated happily. My advice just go, go to Rouj Modern Lebanese!
The Rouj Modern Lebanese Restaurant is not just another Lebanese restaurant - it is outstanding dining at reasonable prices. We have been back here three or four times now trying different things on the menu. Every dish is a knockout. Sure the theme is based on traditional Lebanese cuisine but every dish results in an explosion of flavours in your mouth. They have a range of small dishes which can be shared and a good range of main meals such as ones based on lamb, beef, chicken, fish and other seafood. I like to keep my main meal to myself. Each meal is superbly cooked and a wonderful balance of flavours. Nothing is over or under done. The barramundi is not just another fish meal, it is an exceptional meal and when you bite into their slow cooked marinated lamb wow….melt in the mouth is accompanied by an explosion of deeply embedded fresh herbs and spices - truly orgasmic. When you search for Rouj restaurant online it says its address is 21 Nash St, Paddington, QLD. In fact, it is 21 Nash St Rosalie. It is right amongst the vibrant cluster of restaurants in Rosalie. Right next door is Mint Vietnamese restaurant which is rather rowdy. Rouj has a few tables on the veranda and if you don’t want to be among the carnival of shouting across tables ask for a table inside.
Read the menu, there are choices to make with which salad you want etching. I love the kebabs, and the lunch platters. The last 2 times I had lunch there I bought some tabbouleh and hummus to take home, delicious. Really clean restaurant, casual, delicious food. My partner got some beer from the BWS as BYO is fine. Always pleases.
My family and I were greeted and served by the most kind-hearted, sweetest Lebanese woman you can imagine - giving the place a very warm atmosphere from the start. There was a great range of Vegan options as well as meat options for the rest of my family. Each of our mains were very large and tasted absolutely beautiful, I'd like to recommend the vegetarian delight to all the veggies out there - bits and pieces of vegan/vegetarian cuisine all on one plate. We were all extremely satisfied with our meals and service - waddling out the door in single file.
I stumbled upon this restaurant in Brisbane by chance. The food was delicious and reasonably priced by Australian standards, and the staff were lovely. Water is complimentary and expected. Overall, I will definitely be back next year.
