Bidra med feedbackI don't visit this restaurant as often as I used to, but I recently stopped in for a pot of tea and eggs on toast with my two-year-old. The food is still just as good as it has always been, and the atmosphere is excellent for a place on Ipswich Road. It seems like all the trendy people have moved to Dudley Street Espresso, but the tea there isn't great, so Groove Café is less crowded and you can easily get a table inside without too much noise. I don't drink coffee, but apparently it's very good here.
If you are a coffee lover, make sure to visit the Groove Cafe. The cafe got its name from a nearby dance school called Groove, which has since changed its name but the cafe has stayed the same. The coffee at Groove Cafe is made from Columbian beans and is known for being strong, rich, and full of flavor. It's a rare find in Brisbane to be able to walk into a coffee shop and get a great cup of coffee without having to explain how you want it made. The cafe is located in Annerley and is worth a visit, with the added bonus of being close to an Antique Centre and op shops. The decor is colorful and charming, and the meals are consistently delicious and reasonably priced. The coffee is the perfect pick-me-up to start your day. Despite being located on noisy Ipswich Road, the overall experience at Groove Cafe makes you forget about the noise. Keep in mind that the cafe is closed on Sundays.
Our midday visit to this restaurant was rather disappointing. The retro 50's decor with laminated tables lacked ambiance, and the warm water served in dodgy plastic cups did not help. The noisy traffic outside made the place dusty, and the lack of fans or air conditioning made it feel like an oven. The lukewarm coffees we ordered were not satisfactory, and when my friend complained to the waitress, she seemed confused and did not offer to make a new one. The poor customer service and uncomfortable atmosphere ruined our outing, and we will not be returning.
We were in Annerley decided to stop here for a quick coffee. The place has a great 50's retro feel complete with the old tables chairs from this era. But what was especially pleasing was the Groove served fantastic coffee. Well roasted blends, not bitter and brewed perfectly. We will definitely stop by here again and next time try their breakfast. The corn fritters I saw served to another patron looked delicious.
I don’t come here anywhere near as often as I used to, but stopped in for a pot of tea and eggs on toast with my two year old recently. It’s still just as good as it always been, and the ambience is as good as you’re going to get for somewhere on Ipswich Road. All the cool kids seem to have moved down the block to Dudley Street Espresso, even though you can’t get a decent cup of tea there, which does mean Groove Café is less crowded so you can get an inside table and it’s not too noisy.I don’t drink coffee but it’s apparently very good here.
