Bidra med feedbackThis place is SO. COOL. My partner and I have stopped here a few times, as we typically go to Pleasant Mountain to ski, and this is a great stop for some food. First off, Standard's venue is an old gas station which has been gutted out and transformed into a small, casual, and modern establishment. There is a small bar, window seating, and small tables for patrons to sit at. Along one large wall, there are coolers filled with local beer, cider, wine, and seltzers for patrons to purchase, whether they are eating in or taking out. The food changes weekly, though, they do keep some things frequently on their menu. I have tried the fried chicken sandwich, the poutine (if you are eating it yourself-get the small portion because it's still huge), a miso mac n cheese, corn dip (which I'm not a huge fan of corn, but this was fantastic), and steak sandwich. Everything is house-made and fresh. Again, because the menu changes weekly and because of the quality of food, I get excited to see what is on the menu to try something new. Lastly, the service is always top-notch and friendly. Each time we have been here, the service is attentive and we always end up chatting with the servers. I highly recommend Standard Gastropub for a casual but fun experience if you are in the Bridgton area!
Delicious food and an outrageous selection of beer. It really has to be seen to be believed!
Who would have thought such amazing food would be found in such an unassuming place. (Was it really once a gas station). My husband got corn dip and burnt ends. Easily the best burnt ends I have ever had. I had the smashburger and fries. The burger was perfection. How it was so juicy and not the slightest bit messy is beyond me. The homemade crispy thin fries with curried ketchup were so yum. I had only wished they were slightly bigger (or longer) for better dipping.
Beautiful wine and beer selection! The owner was super nice and personable. The staff is very attentive. The food is fire, probably the best brisket that I've had in a long time, and it wasn't over powered by sauce. The chicken sandwich was also delicious. The poutine was great, I would of preferred thicker fries for the gravy aspect. We will be back!
I never noticed Standard Gastropub before, probably because it's a very plain, dark building without much signage, but then I read an article that raved about it, so I had to check it out. The menu was limited but had some great choices. I had the smashed burger with Standard's special sauce, and it tasted like a McDonald's Big Mac but a hundred times better (and healthier). The homemade shoestring fries were also great. Their margarita was one of the best I've had. Friendly customer service, reasonable prices, small place with small bar but nice atmosphere.
