Bidra med feedbackOn our 5-day trip in May 2019, my wife and I visited the French coast from St. Gilles to Sables d'Olonne, but it was in Brétignolles near Les Brisants, the love met our palates. The chef translates his love for the Vendee Terroir into tasty, exciting preciosities, embodied poetry from childhood memories, travels and inspirations. In a comfortable room with the beach in front of our eyes, the affable restaurant crew ruled us to the temptations of the menu. And we came back for an addition just to confirm the quality of this excellent restaurant. Can't wait to travel back there and discover the delicacies of a new season.
Michelin star chef Jean-Marc Perochon; fantastic food and service at what seems to be an unprecedented hotel restaurant, along the corniche in Brétignolles-sur-Mer. Morsels of deliciously prepared and presented dishes. An amazing experience. Very recommended for a special occasion or if you are a Gourmand.
Bretignolles St Gilles x de Vie lately and stayed here for a night. The hotel welcome was not the warmest, but hey his season, and I expected we to stay the only ones and eat in this facility.... I was actually wrong, as we later discovered in Mr. Perochon's restaurant. Six tables were occupied. The hotel: No great luxury here, but the price is OK. We had a nice room with sea view and balcony. The beds are correct, bathroom okay and the place is clean. There is no connection from the hotel building to the restaurant, although there is under one roof. Dinner was a bit disappointing. Unusual for a gourmet restaurant Mr Perochon seems to appreciate the taste of the chemical truffle aroma (2.4 dithiapentane) that imitates the fine taste of the real product. See that this ingredient is often used in pizzerias or fast food restaurants, I am a little surprised to have found this ingredient here. Raw product was certainly fresh and 1A quality, but my taste was not entirely consistent with certain compostions and I even rejected a dish that was not substituted. There is not much competition in the region, so the performance is likely acceptable, but to live an hour from here, I will not make myself this place again.
In 30 years of eating in French restaurants I have never eaten so well so consistently. We ate dinner here every night for a week and we did not eat the same thing twice and we loved every single mouthful. I have an allergy to...shellfish, often difficult to manage at the sea side, but managed here effortlessly by the marvellous chef. The wine list is comprehensive and the sommelier incredibly knowledgeable without being condescending.
No surprise this restaurant is listed in food guides. Inventive cuisine with fresh products. Service is professional, even it slows a bit when the restaurant becomes full. It is understandable as dishes needs time to be prepared. Medium price on the scale for such restaurant,...means it is a very good Quality/Price ratio
