Lagrev - Bregaglia

Our new favorite walking destination restaurant in the Sils-Maloja area. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and efficient, even though the restaurant is often crowded at lunchtime. Seating is mainly outside by the lakeside, with outstanding views.

We were shocked today when we arrived with friends after a day of skiing. We are all from different countries and ordered a few drinks and cakes in a mixture of Italian, English and German. It was such a wonderful sunny day and the terrace was beautiful. We ordered one of the cakes with two spoons and when the waitress came back with two applestrudels we explained we had only ordered 1. She told us we were wrong and she couldn’t do anything about the situation. We continued to eat one and she came back to take the 2nd strudel away. This was a sign to us that she had accepted the misunderstanding in the order. It happens and it could have been turned around professionally. The response usually is: oh sorry I had misunderstood and don’t worry about it. However, this was not the case and she made sure she charged us for two cakes anyway. We had skied on and were contemplating why the bill was nearly 60 Swiss francs for a few non alcoholic drinks and three cakes. The way we were treated was unacceptable and we will make sure never to return even though one of our friends is a local.

Wir haben das Lagrev als Zwischenstation unserer Wanderung ausgewählt und waren positiv überrascht. Die Polenta mit Pilzen war hervorragend. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Die Bedienung ist sehr effizient und freundlich.

Was erwartet man in Isola? Richtig, ein solides Mittagessen. Das kriegt man und zwar von ordentlicher Qualität. Wetterbedingt sassen wir in der Gaststube, schöner wäre es natürlich im Garten mit Blick auf See und Berge. Die Mitarbeiter sind aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir probierten drei verschiedene Kuchen, alle tip top.

Am besten gefällt mir der Aussenbereich, man sitzt auf einer schönen Wiese mit Blick auf den See, die Abstandsregeln können sehr gut eingehalten werden, weil ausreichend Platz vorhanden ist
