Ocean Basket Carnival City - Brakpan

We went for a quick lunch in a big group. They have the new winter menu. Do not order the paella. It looks good on the menu but it's awful (the waiter did warn us! . All other food was great. Service was fine normal OB standards.

A little it disappointed that the food wasnt up to its usual OB standard. Starters we tried the new prawns skewer cocktail. Minute prawns half cooked on sticks with thinly sliced cucumber and some sauce, and the garlic bread which comes on a flat tray drowned in the garlic feta sauce pity its yucky bread they using but the sauce itself is nice. Somehow the fish for mains was tasteless and even my chips.<br/ <br/ Prawns also were not on top form, dont know if this is as a result of the revamped menu since the complaints about the type of fish OB uses...i think the only thing that was good was the sushi and the veg.<br/ Service was good i cant fault that.<br/ They also now introduced lattes and spiced chai which hit the spot due the the aircons in carnival...<br/ <br/ *Updated review 29th may 2015*. So today my experience with the food was totally different. Tried something off the winter menu the rock shrimp tempura and it was divine. Love it the shrimp and mayo on the top definitely make the flavour. Also i had the starter garlic and feta prawns... the only complaint i have is they should make it a main meal.. 6 prawns in a snail dish and an amazing tangy sauce.. if only there was more..... so for that my rating has increased.

I really loved the food not to mention our waitress . Amazing service! I’m coming back for your mussels wow, to die for! Beautiful spaces! Very clean! Food is served hot and fresh!
