Bidra med feedbackWe took our Mum here for Mother’s Day afternoon tea. The food was amazing and staff were very attentive. It was really reasonably priced with a hot drink and fizz non alcoholic drink included. The staff would regularly check on us and ask if we wanted more to drink. There was ample food with enough to take home too! Would definitely recommend to others, we always love visiting
Would NOT come back here ordered at 10.55, still not served 11.45. I can only hope the breakfast is parallel to the Savoy Grill and the sausages have been hand made to order from rare breed pigs. Generally unfriendly, avoid.
Staying in Braintree, but seeking somewhere a bit different for a light lunch and found the Braxted Bakery through Tripadvisor. Glad we did. A very tempting menu ranging from chorizo and egg on bubble and squeak (yes! through sandwiches, panini, quiche. One of us chose cheesy toast the other sausage baguette, both more elaborate and well flavoured than the names suggest. Good food, freshly prepared by cheerful and attentive but no fuss staff. The cakes looked superb but we wouldn't have been able to do them justice. Well worth a visit. And as an added and unexpected bonus...there's a little railway in an adjoining field. Built by a bloke who apparently was looking for something to do in lockdown. I don't know how often it's open, but we were able to take a ride on it proper carriages moving at a stately pace deep in the Essex countryside. Eccentric, slightly absurd and full of joy.
Visit about once a month for brunch and lunch. The food is always delicious. We are usually too full for a cake, usually taking one away for later as the cakes are awesome!
In fairness we were a group of 13 people and we all sat outside so staff had a bit of a walk . The order was taken one by one but we were all served together one by one as order was taken Very good coffee and the food is all homemade and very fresh . Scones amazing and the cooks are huge I didn’t have one but assured they are delicious A lovely spot not the easiest to locate easy to drive by but worth a visit
