Bidra med feedbackWorth the travel. Have been here frequently, and last visit was yesterday for a Christmas lunch with work collegues. Food excellent, which was why we went. Great value and plenty of variety. <br/ <br/ We booked knowing they were busy and surprised to read comments in another review about large 'god bothering groups '. It is Richlands which neighbours Darra Inala. We attended knowing an Islander group of 130 had also booked. They arrived, and whist busy with kids of all ages were delightful and polite and kids no bratty than any other social group. Being immersed in a multicultural environment is part of the charm to coming here.<br/ <br/ I too adjusted my final booking number with a 'Jasmine ' who seemed rather vague no where the reservations book whilst talking to me. When we arrived there were no notations or adjustments indicating our final numbers! So do be vigilant about who u speak to when booking quote their name back to the greeter at the door!<br/ <br/ We loved our lunch with the entire party (except for me) being first time visiters. We were in spot on 11.30 and eating at 11.40. Chinese was fresh and veggies crispy. They had a pumpkin sweet potatoe bake that was delish. Roast beef still tender. Lasagne mediocre, fried selection was crisp and with decent oil. Deserts were plentiful variety good. Mouse was the only let down. Powdery not mixed properly.<br/ <br/ This venue is a great place for lunch with family or extended family friends. Post mix soft drink great value easy self serve set up good for all ages.<br/ <br/ We found the staff friendly (considering they were run off their feet) we stayed there until kick out at 2:30. Our large Islander group (ie church group) were delightful, considerate and polite. I would be prepared to eat with them at any buffet setting!<br/ <br/ Thanks Richlands Tavern. Our work group enjoyed our catch up your food, venue service contributed to that experience. Everyone attending said they would be back bring their guests along too.
I have been here a few times for dinner and once for breakfast. I find the food overall pretty good at dinner. The Chinese can be hit and miss, so I guess it depends who cooks it. The breakfast, I thought, was great value for money. As for the service.... Terrible. Nearly all of the girls are rude and abrupt. You'd have to bribe most of them to get a smile out of them. And we have a little joke everytime when it comes to booking because the first two times we went there, we booked, and when we got there they seemed to have forgotten to write us in. The third time we didn't and it was made VERY clear that we should book. So now we have a bet whenever we go as to whether or not our booking has been entered. Good times.
Dinner buffet has a great selection. Good food, good service and reasonable prices.
Lunch is good value, dinner is a little bit up their for what it is. Although service is very friendly.
Its a pub buffet. We 've taken our family here twice now, with Mr7 declaring that it is 'better than Sizzlers ' so if you have a young family that is easy to please, you will probably enjoy the food here.<br/ <br/ There is a deep fried section including calamari rings, chicken nuggets, gems, etc. A carvery/roast section with one or two typical precooked roast meats, some steamed fish, plus several beef goulash type dishes that no doubt are made from last nights left overs. Having dined twice, we found these dishes to be hit and miss, the first time definately better than the second. Much the same can be said for the 'chinese buffet ' with several chinese style selections and prawn crackers. The 'salad bar ' is very basic and most probably not the primary focus for the majority of diners in this area anyway. Both times we dined we enjoyed the pesto pasta dish, but the lasagne and spaghetti/bolognese dishes were average.<br/ <br/ The sweets bar is another story.......(if only the staff knew how to label the items correctly). The have a large selection of cake/slice items, all individually portioned just right, so you could just about have one of each if you were so inclined! They also have the typical soft serve/topping/smartie bar for the kids, as well as trifle, pav, jelly fruit.<br/ <br/ In summary, I would have to say the main meal components are generally lower quality to appease the hungry masses, but if you have a sweet tooth, you could probably overlook that and go straight to dessert.
