Caffe Riva - Bowness-on-Windermere

We've visited this restaurant a few times, and overall, the experience has been enjoyable. However, during our most recent visit, we encountered some issues. Our drink order was incorrect, but it was re-ordered right away. We ordered pizza and ended up waiting quite a while for it to be served. In fact, three tables that arrived after us were served their food before we received ours. When our pizzas finally arrived, mine looked like a frisbee and should have never been served. It seemed that my order had been overlooked, as my pizza was just left sitting under the heat lamp. While the cost of the pizza was refunded, it still left one hungry diner at our table. The waiter informed us that the restaurant is closing in January and will be rebranding. Here's hoping that the customer service improves and that food is served in a more appealing condition in the future.

I spent New Year's Eve here and it was the best night ever! All the staff were fantastic, and I would definitely recommend this place.

The food was overcooked. The rice balls served as a starter were very dry, and the tomato sauce was overly tangy. The lasagna had a burnt top that was inedible and difficult to cut through, although the layers underneath were delicious. On a positive note, the atmosphere and service were good.
