Verve - Bournemouth

Great sports bar atmosphere in the Verve which has been especially kitted out for the World Cup 2018. The bar staff have all got different football shirts on which varies, apparently from day to day; today it was Brazil and Pele's turn ! I ordered a Johann Cruyf Burger which consisted of a double beef burger in a brioche bun with Emmental cheese, onions and mushrooms accompanied by a bucket of skinny fries it was beautifully presented and delicious to eat. There are several large screen TV's in the bar area and naturally there was a World Cup match on when we were there (Portugal 1 0 Morocco). Lots of different seating options from leather sofas and chairs to bar stools and normal dining room chairs. Great place to get involved with the World Cup fever and we can highly recommend the food.

I booked a table for 6 at the Sunday Carvery and I must say my guests and I were very pleased with the whole experience. From the cheerful greeting on arrival to starters and main A good selection of starters from the cold display or a tasty hot soup. Main meal service was excellent, meat was very moist and hot and the selection of vegetables nicely cooked and presented very nice presentation at the serving station very clean too Thank you a very pleasant experience

Booked a table in Verve bournemouth and gave our name, when we went back three hours later to eat the man had trouble finding our booking even though he himself had taken down our names earlier and it had not been particularly busy. We were then questioned as to how we were going to pay. We had taken advantage of a deal where you get a room and get a 2-course meal included, which we thought was excellent. Unfortunately it seemed as though we were immediately judged because of this, despite the fact that we had been prepared to spend quite a lot of money on extras as we had done before using a similar deal at the Nottingham branch. We felt immediately judged by the way we were dressed. We didn 't even manage to sit down before we were told to make our order for drinks, no menu given, asked for drinks menu and were handed a laminated paper printout offering alcopops and fruit shoot. Had to ask again for a proper drinks menu, ordered a bottle of wine, the three members of staff then spent a good 10 minutes struggling to uncork the bottle. Got the wine, it was poured for us and was full of bits of cork floating around where they had been incapable of opening the bottle. This, combined with the impolite service, makes me question the type of training that the staff are given. Were told to order dessert with our mains, then after the meal they completely forgot that we 'd already ordered desserts and we were told to order them again. The table next to us and behind us received equally bad service and were equally unimpressed. Went up to the bar and asked for the bill and was told I 'm just sorting out another table 's bill, I 'll be with you in a minute , which is fair enough. She sorted out the other table 's bill and then walked straight off from us. Once we finally actually got the bill, they didn 't even bother to ask for a tip so obviously they didn 't expect one! On the bright side, the food was delicious so well done to the chef. Shame the service was not up to scratch.

We had our first sunday carvery here we had previously booked our table the waiter came and explained where everything was for starters you had a choice of Mushroom Soup or there was a selection of cold starters prawn cocktail pate bread /butter pork pie cold meats etc lots to choose from you then could have Beef Ham or Turkey which was served onto your plate with a Yorkshire pudding if you wanted one they where huge. there was roast potatoes Mash Potatoes Cauliflower Cheese Carrots sprouts these where hard , cabbage parsnips and gravy you could eat as much as you wanted good choice of puddings the atmosphere was very nice very relaxed you wasnt rushed and the service was excellent all in all a very good meal and good value for money

A wonderful time had by all, the meal and the staff were excellent with even a small present for the children. Good value for the money.
