Splendid restaurant, nicely dressed, let down by the 'coach trip ' group and the newer timesharers now in the Carlton. The extensive menu offered a great choice and the food was well-cooked and presented attractively. The prices were fair for what was on offer and dinner was very enjoyable. Worth a visit, if only to sample the food !

I went out for dinner with friends at this restaurant. We ordered the 'Steak fritte' but it was served barely warm with cold chips. After sending it back, it came back hot but the steak was fatty and of poor quality. The service staff kept making mistakes, such as forgetting the ice and lemon in our drinks. When we asked for bottled coke, they served it from the bar dispenser and had to change it. The lemon and blueberry sponge dessert was hardly edible and the sticky toffee pudding came without the custard we ordered. They brought a tiny pot of custard to remedy the situation. It's no surprise that the restaurant was nearly empty. We should have checked the reviews before making a reservation. We won't be coming back any time soon.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and was disappointed by the shabby appearance. The smell of chlorine from the indoor pool at The Carlton was overwhelming and affected the air quality. The building itself appeared to be run down and in need of maintenance. The food we ordered was terrible, with fatty pork and broccoli that was so hard we couldn't even cut it with a knife or fork. We couldn't leave fast enough and have no intentions of returning. The staff was not very efficient. I would recommend finding a different dining option.

We had a dinner, bed and breakfast booking at the Carlton hotel so everything was included. The choices for dinner were very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was very good too. Breakfast was very busy but we were shown to a table and the procedures were explained to us. Even though it was hectic, food dishes were kept well stocked and we enjoyed a good breakfast.

A pleasant 'in- hotel ' restaurant. Nicely decorated with polite and efficient staff but perhaps a slightly restricted menu?
