Bombay Palace - Bournemouth

Fantastic Indian food. We have dined in the restaurant and also ordered takeout multiple times. The quality is consistently great and the portion sizes are fabulous. We will definitely be returning.

Had an upset tummy hours after eating. Waiters wait around not saying much and just standing at the bar. Had to keep asking for water even when they saw our cups were empty. Nothing spicy which was a shame. Yeah overall it’s not bad but not the best.

We 've lived in this area for over 8 years and known about Bombay Palace but never been in before what a revelation! Quite a cosy, basic restaurant, the first thing to note is it 's not licenced for alcohol so you have to BYO I quick trip to Waitrose just down the road and back with a nice bottle if white wine and 3 large bottles of Cobra that came to around £12 in total, and it is the cheapest drinks we 've had in a restaurant in years! The staff are great and it 's a really good menu with good value prices lots of choice with some less familiar dishes as well as all the usuals you would expect in an Indian restaurant. One word if warning there are quite a few dishes marked as Vegan but ask to make sure the vegan vegetable balti was great, but the Naan bread it came with had ghee (butter) on it. They swapped for a plain tandoor bread, which was fine. The food was absolutely delicious and great portions too ... between three of us, we has enough to take home in a 'doggy bag ' for another full meal! This is now our go to restaurant for a really good curry in Bournemouth!

It appears that there has been a change in management, but the quality of the restaurant has remained consistent. The food and service are both exceptional. I discovered a new favorite dish, the lamb parsee. The sauce is perfectly medium spiced, and the lamb and lentils are tender. Absolutely superb.

I enjoyed the food, but the service was disappointing. We were given the bill without being asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. While we were still chatting, they came to check if we had paid, which made us feel rushed. It seemed like they were trying to push us out. It was unfortunate, in my opinion.
