Lovely visit here today for a spot of brunch, polite friendly helpful staff even when I was taking my time deciding what to have, will visit again
Poor customer service when you queue politely and are then ignored by staff in order them to serve the regular daily drinkers who had just walked in over us. Also poor standards of cleanliness with sticky tables and menus. We left and ate elsewhere.
The Mon Under Water is located in the centre of Boston close to St Botolph's Church and the river and looks pretty from the outside. Inside décor was fairly decent and I had no issues finding a table, although it was a midweek evening so I expected it to be quiet. I had real issues using the App (I was visiting alone and wanted to avoid leaving the table to order food) however the App scanned my credit card but kept saying it couldn't verify the basket, so in the end I had no option but to order food at the bar. I asked one of the waiting staff if I was doing anything wrong on the App but they said they couldn't help. I ordered a spicy meat pizza, which was tasty but compared to identical orders in other pubs in the chain the topping was a bit miserly. I asked if they had any pepper sauce (to spice it up a bit) such as Tabasco but they said they didn't have any. Overall it was an okay visit to a new pub for me (my 194th pub in the chain) but left feeling a little disappointed with my visit.
This popular Wetherspoons pub is located in the centre of Boston and offers excellent value for money. We used the App which worked very well, and our drinks arrived within 5 minutes and food within 15 minutes. The quality was good and the staff were friendly and helpful on a busy Saturday night. Well done everyone.
