The Britannia - Boston

I have been dining at this restaurant for fifty years and have seen its highs and lows. It is a rare establishment that has managed to survive, but it is currently not in the best condition and seems to have lost touch with its customer base. The beer is still enjoyable, however.

Went in on Friday evening bar staff friendly , cheerful and helpful. Beer was OK but only others in were sitting at a table swearing loudly also woman doing karaoke swearing alot so felt abit uncomfortable but would revisit as feel could be different during day.

Popped in here for a drink. Barmaid was hilarious... and commented (when we ordered gin and tequila) that people your age usually just mumble two Carling Darling . LOL The pub could be described by some as slightly scary but for me and my mate it was a great alternative to the usual sterile place. Full of locals, a billiard table and yes, a couple of happy kids running around. Don 't wear your best frock and you 'll do fine. Not sure that this pub even serves food but it is no steakhouse for sure....

Returning to a once enjoyed local pub. Loud music at noon, child at the bar (in pyjamas! ordered a pint of XB. Not good,had a replacement no better. No offer of a different drink or refund. Yet another Boston pub I'll avoid. Sad times

I have not eaten here, but whilst a nice little Riverside pub, which does sell food, it is not a steakhouse.
