Bidra med feedbackWe decided to try no 9 again after her recent closures and chef changes. we have known barbara lynch from olives to menton. i think she was 19 when we had to see who made extraordinary steam little necks clams at Rocco’s. out came a shy lady from south boston? irish? how could she learn to make these top rate dishes? we wanted to patronize her again at no 9, her first restaurant where we frequented. last nights food was top rate and service was excellent. great to have a top rate meal again in boston! thank you barbara for being part of the great food revolution in boston.
The tasting menu dinner that five of us had last night was really wonderful. We enjoyed the flavors, presentation, inventiveness and service very much. We were very impressed that although almost empty, the service and the food was still A+ top notch. The bathrooms are getting a little shabby though.
Very testy food ! Nice presentation ! We had fun last night !!
Probably the best salmon I've ever had anywhere. The wine pairing (a Chardonnay I believe) went excellently with the dish and enhanced the flavor. The experience started off great with an excellent cocktail and service. I tried a few things I don't normally like or would choose otherwise that were presented through the tasting menu. For example the chef's signature gnocchi was superb and I normally would not order gnocchi so was very impressed with the dish! The only sour notes were some of the later dishes didn't seem to pair as well with the dishes for me. The service also ended up coming up short later in the meal. Normally I don't mind minor issues like that occurring, but it did detract from the overall experience.
Raymond our server was fabulous for our anniversary holiday lunch. Some of the finest service I’ve ever had, and we had a truly spectacular meal with No. 9. Will be back for next year and hopefully many more to come due to the service and food. Restaurant itself could use a refresh but the food and waitstaff are outstanding.
