Bidra med feedbackI could repeat what everyone says about the amazing chowder and good prices. Instead I'll focus on another facet that makes Galway House great. The waitresses. They are to the point, helpful, and not overbearing. Thanks to the waitstaff.
I'm sorry, but since the pandemic food quality has dropped enormously. People understand cost increase, but cutting corners and buying cheap quality of food product is ridiculous and obvious. With penne noodles for bland terrible Mac cheese... Really? Every week another type of french fry, bad pork chops, skimping on montreal spices on steaks, hardly there are ingredients in soups, mushy fish (frozen) the list can go on and on. Maybe it's the newer chefs, but doubt it. BTW the latest male bartender has zero personality, emotionless and selective in his treatment of certain males. It's not a miracle when he's on the bar, avoiding him many cartridges. Never seen this guy cracking a smile, always grumpy and miserable. Doesn't represent the Galway at all. In fact, stopped going to another institution because he worked there. I'm not gonna come back to Galway for dinner and him.
So I have been here for a very long time Friday 3/3/2023 ordered almost $80.00 value on food. I came home what I got a ride up there, also ordered 3 additional Clam Chowder. So anyway, home-chowder got watered, I got a scallop dinner, that's my favorite dinner every time I eat there. I have 7 scallops on my plate, Broccoli was old and they gave me some sort of dill sauce instead of tartaric acid. Then I got a seafood platter for someone who was disintegrated was not boiled hard as I asked. So I called on Sunday to talk to the boss I know very well. He wasn't available, so I asked the manager, oh he's not there. Called Tuesday and he's out! I'm not sure what's going on, but this is the first time I've been treated and it's not the whole money we spent, and 7 scallops for $26.00 and when I eat there, I got about 10 what I paid. It is very annoyed that nobody can come to me, and I have been a coveted customer for many years! It's not right that you have to watch over your chefs because you robbed me of my food and I'm sorry, but the truth! I'm still waiting for a call from Boss Man or Manager!
I had the Steak Junior, Jumbo Shrimps, Pizza and Alfredo so far, will try again for sure more
We came and it was pretty busy, so we sat and waited 20 minutes or so before we brought water or asked what we want. Once we have everything, the food was just okay. I have the Montreal Ribeye that had a big crust, but something was overdue. The Junior Ribeye was also not a big hit, because the Mac and the cheese were a bit disappointing. Everything came with a cup of shells that was actually pretty good hidden the shells and it was not too thick or thin. Service was super friendly and fast trembling what was funny and beautiful! Overall, I don't think this is the kind of place for a date night, but if you like to bar food or business to watch a game with, you will enjoy yourself.
