Twenty Mule Cafe - Boron

The wait staff is amazing, but the food is a bit questionable for sure! Being new to Boron, we decided to bring an out of town guest here for lunch, she ordered the pastrami burger and said the pastrami tasted like road kill.... Maybe the cook was having a bad day because usually, for being one of the only places in town, this place isn 't so bad.....but that day there should have been a sign that read-Just don 't order ranch dressing unless you like jalapenos because that is all that is available! According to the horribly mean woman that cooks there or cleans there, I 'm not exactly sure what she does other than be mean. And this was served to my son, who is allergic to jalepenos, but she didn 't think that was important to tell the waitress before they brought it out....and that 's not even mentioning the fact that half of the items on the menu aren 't even available! I ordered the sampler platter that came with hot wings,mozzeralla sticks, and onion rings....but there were no taquitos, so fries were substituted, it wasnt cooked all the way, the mozzeralla sticks were warm and cold, the onion rings were soggy, but the only sauce that was served with this undercooked sampler platter was this spicy jalapeno ranch dressing!!! Nothing else, and when I asked why the ranch was green, and if there was any other ranch or sauces,I was told that spicy ranch is all they have!!! I didn 't eat because of this and asked that I not be charged for my meal, I was told that the horribly mean woman said I had to pay for it, and when I complained, I was then approached by the horribly mean lady and asked to leave and never return. I am not disappointed by this, but my son is...he loved this place because the waitress knew how much he likes ranch and even brought him two, as she always does....being new here it was nice to find a place he and his brother liked(who loves the strawberry waffles the waitress reccomened on our very first visit) and that had good service....but we really like the waitress at T&L and the food is much better, so we 'll be going there from now on.

Open for many years now. I call the CAFE my Kitchen. Great food and a great menu. Mexican flavors, country standards, warm winter soups and of course, the Specials . I really enjoy that full menu all day service. I can have breakfast for dinner if I want. It 's my choice. Fantastic service, wonderful Staff. Keep up the good work. Stopped for a break from driving, food and service was great. We will definitely be back.

Food is very good. Comfortable place. Clean. Friendly.
