Biohof Bursch Cafe - Bornheim

Knowing someone who lives in Bornheim, but I've never been there. Now I come to the point that led me to it. Botanically, Topinambur is related to sunflowers. Their tubers in a way remind a little of ginger, but only if it is broken into small pieces. The taste can be described badly: it is a mixture of pumpkin, rather at the distance with a sweet potato, already with a tube. It is suitable for various dishes. Unlike a potato it can also be consumed raw! If you want to continue processing, it does not make the mistake I made: it is better to scrape it before (as with ginger better with a spoon. I have tasted particularly finely chopped chips well, but in combination with potatoes they are also suitable for pears or as I have made it, as a supplement with a vegan vegetable soup. The corresponding recipes can be found on the corresponding pages on the Internet. By the way: You need to consume the topinambur quickly after you had bought it because they are not able to store. I had to find out that after a few days! Now I come back to Hof Bursch, where I first got this old vegetables. It was very surprised when I asked about the possibilities that the producer just mentioned that he had never eaten them personally... Only after that, as mentioned, I spoke to a specialist who, although she had no experience with it, was very enthusiastic about my concern and made her own suggestions. If the (one man on the stand had reacted this way, and if I had acted like a "bitter", there would be a better overall assessment instead. When I discovered the desire pleasure at the stand and there was no sign with a price display, I had to ask for the first time what “you” would be. When I was called, I thought I was interrogated. I left the stand to digest the “shock” and check whether the price is worth about 8 € kg. This is highly comparable to those for asparagus when you buy a few “masks”! In the combination BIO and the SELTENHEIT in cultivation to get them on a comparable weekly market in my region, countless paintings have failed!
