Le Cafe Francais - Bordeaux

Fabulous food, great service and a lovely place! I had the oysters followed by the sole. Oysters to die for and the fish beautifully cooked. My husband had the kidneys and our nephew the duck confit. Supported by the best Provençal rosé. Helene, the waitress superb! Will return.

We ordered a garrafe d’eau and the waiter told ué that they didn’t have it, which is odd because every Restaurant/bar that we went, had no problem with that and spent 4,20 euros in a bottle of water. When we looked to the other tables, all of them had a garrafe d’eau, the waiter simply whipered us out. The croissant is expensive and nothing to be proud of.

We have stopped here for several years for a snack or dessert, had lunch this year. The big draw is it's a great place to sit outside on a lovely plaza. Go for the atmosphere, not the food and service.

A classic French cafe.. loved sitting outside on a nice spring day outside the cathedral for lunch! We both had salads the caesar with chicken and fried camembert. Both delicious and hit the spot! The bread was also sooo good.

Having passed this cafe with visitors over the past 3 years (when covid rules have allowed) I finally had call to go in for dinner with friends. It was very disappointing, it took the server 3 attempts to get the order right and the food was average and I expected better for the price point.
