Bidra med feedbackWhen looking at earlier reviews and pictures I realise that something must have gone terribly wrong. The place itself is pretty depressing, and we actually "felt bad" of the service instead of angry or whatever. He really didn't look happy and wasn't friendly at all! This wouldn't have been all that catastrophic if it wasn't also because of the fact that the food was terrible. I am really sorry to say the main dish we both had was probably the worst dish ever had in a restaurant: a fish papillote, served in the aluminium foil directly, with some small and dry mussels and with a side dish that could have been polenta with parmesan cheese but that was just bad in all aspects. The only good thing I can say is that at least it was cheap. If the owner/cook reads this, I would really recommand making Asian streetfood dishes or something, but a change is definitely needed.
A little restaurent with fusion cuisine. I liked a lot the mix of different tastes in my plate. It was interesting to try different plates and to see how creative is the chief. Make a reservation before your visi in weekends it may be full.
I booked this restaurant after reading the reviews in Tripadvisor, through the connection with Tripadvisor, I was looking forward to our visit. We arrived at 8pm and the place was empty, we were greeted by a young man and showed to a table & given a wine menu. After 15 to 20mins having been left to our own devices we made it clear we wanted some service or at least a drink. Then the menu was explained to us and we got a nice bottle of wine. We then ordered the various plate (tapas style) shown on the board menu, which I must admit were different & nicely presented. The place then started to fill up and the service got slower. Eventually we finished our food which was ok but I think because of the earlier problems we didn't really enjoy it to it's fullest.I don't think I'd visit again.
Really enjoyed our meal here, its on a side street so we were lucky to find it and get a table with no reservation as it filled up very quickly. There is a set menu, the only thing you get to choose is the number of courses. There are 5, none of them huge, but I chose 4, (missed the dessert) and they were all delicious and certainly filled me up. The first was a selection of 3 'tastes' all pretty good, but the standout was a Japanese style dumpling, next was some delicious cauliflower soup surrounding a pork roll, sounds odd but tasted great. A rice cake with avocado and veal was next, very tasty, last for me was the best dish, a small beautifully cooked steak with some mushrooms and potato all in all a great mixture of French and Asian flavours. Hats off to the inovative chef and the funky interesting place he has established. Good wines, mostly regional, with a few available by glass and half bottle. Only problem was paying with a card as the wifi dropped out and the Eftpos machine didnt work, not sure if this is a frequent problem, anyway we paid in cash. Would be happy to go back and throughly recommend this place.
Without TripAdvisor I doubt we would have found this restaurant. It is down a dead-end narrow lane off a narrow road, but what a find. The waitress was having a break outside just before they opened, we asked her what the style of the food was like, and “Japanese French” was her answer, sounded interesting!!!What did we like? Well, making your mind up was simple, just how many courses did we want, the menu was on the board, all we had to do was to select the amount of plates we wanted to arrive. What a superb find.
