Waldhauschen - Bonn

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Amazing local food presented simply and with tradition at the forefront of the mind. Cheap which is scarce when the quality is good. And the manager seemed to be completely at home explaining all the complexity of the German...menu. Which I have to say was of so much help to us, since it was the first night of a week away. We got so much of a warm welcome we will be singing this restaurants praises for a long time to come, and if we find ourselves in bonn we will be coming back!

It's the only place for decent food in Venusberg. When I came here the cheff wasn't there, but the owner/barman made sure I had lots of tea and flammküchen to kill my time and hunger . Very nice of him!

Stayed in a nearby hotel, recommended by front desk. Authentic German cuisine, unassuming but cooked to perfection. So good in fact, I came back the next day. All is good, tried pork schnitzel and Der Klassiker (grilled pork). Salads slightly over-sauced but tasty. Charming, peaceful...location in a residential area. Probably not for foodies, romantics, or thrill-seekers but satisfies those who want a nice, hearty meal amid good company.

Very tasteful meal, nothing fancy, just good. Bit like a (small) pub. Lovely owner who made us feel very welcome.
