Bidra med feedbackWe stumbled upon this restaurant in Bonaventure as a last resort for lunch after trying two other local spots that were closed. Disappointed with the limited options at another nearby restaurant, we almost gave up until we saw the good reviews for this place online. Despite the sign saying the kitchen was closed, the owner, Sylvain, welcomed us and offered to serve us his creations. He explained his style of cooking and made us feel like special guests. We ordered the seafood and salmon plates, along with a local beer and white wine. The food was delicious and left us feeling satisfied. Overall, we had a wonderful experience thanks to Sylvain's hospitality. Other restaurants in the area could learn a thing or two from him.
They had just opened for the day and we were the first there. the owner was very friendly. he went over the house specialties and I wish we could have tasted a few more dishes. my wife had a sandwich and I had the cables that were almost melted-in-your-mouth tender and fresh. they have a few local beers in bottles, as well as a nice selection to wein. Several people stopped to buy a light lunch, coffee and fish and meat sold over the counter.
We ordered the salmon and halibut filet, both dishes were excellent and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. The coffee was also outstanding and the owner was very charming. I would definitely say it was my favorite restaurant in Gaspésie.
This place deserves a 1 for the exceptional experience, the unique atmosphere, attention to detail, and innovation. At its core, Jack Crusoë is a wilderness outfitter specializing in Sous-vide cuisine for the adventurous crowd. The steampunk bistro exudes a Hemingway-esque vibe, making it a relaxed resto bar with fantastic food where you can while away an afternoon. Jack Crusoë defies classification, but let's dive into its story. The owner has a passion for creating Sous-vide packages for his own white water adventures, and decided to turn this hobby into a business. Located on one of the most beautiful rivers in the world in Bonaventure, the restaurant has been lovingly restored with steampunk aesthetics. Jack Crusoë offers gourmet cook-in-a-bag meals made with local ingredients, perfect for reheating on camping trips. The interior boasts handmade tables and bars crafted from reclaimed wood, each plank restored by the owner's own hands with care. The kitchen churns out a variety of dishes and condiments daily, blending experimental flair with classic French artistry. More than just a dining spot, Jack Crusoë is an unforgettable culinary experience worth the journey off the beaten path, ideal for a weeknight meal or fueling up for a kayaking adventure.
A new concept mostly aimed at take out meals, sealed and ready to eat in 10 minutes just about anywhere you can make a fire. The food is remarkably delicious nonetheless, their ribs with their exclusive sauce is fabulous! And the paté, wow!
