Pantagruel - Bolzano

Very bad service. Not nice people. I 'm very dissapointed. I need to ask few times for beer and bill. I don 't know why but waitress was like deaf or maybe don 't like us but I don 't know why. Services was very expensive. Pizzeria should think what people employ because of people who are not smile and very slowly and angry i 'm never come back.

Very nice restaurant with kind staff. Reasonable prizes and good atmosphere. I appreciate that our food was prepared very quickly.

I recently joined a colleague for dinner at Pantagruel while visiting Bolzano on business. We selected this restaurant by chance, while driving by. The locale was nicely decorated and tables were situated leaving enough room for private dinner conversation. The efficient wait staff were properly dressed and afforded good service throughout our meal. Tables were topped with cloth tablecloths and napkins. Candles on each table added to the overall atmosphere while hits from the 80's were constantly played on the restaurant's audio system. I started my meal with the bruschetta topped with lardo (lard), gently warmed and melted. Personally, I prefer that the lard is not melted on the bruschetta. The portion was generous and tasty. My colleague enjoyed the house mixed salami and cheese antipasto; though the portion was too much for one person to finish. For the pasta course, we both ordered spaghetti tossed with black olives, artichokes and capers. Considering the ingredients; this dish should have offered more flavor. It was much too bland. The menu also featured several seafood entrees; however, I always steer clear of restaurants serving seafood that are not located near a sea. Bolzano is land-locked. There was also an extensive list of pizza; all cooked in a wood-burning oven. I have no plans to return to Pantagruel.
