Bidra med feedbackFor my lunch, I had the Great Treasures Tofu with steamed rice. I felt that for the price, there could have been more veggies in my meal. The dish also came with an egg roll, which was a bit salty but balanced well with the steamed rice. The service was average, but the server took care of me. The restaurant did a good job transforming the old Denny's into a bright space with a large sushi bar. I think I will return to try other items on the menu.
There are plenty of rolls to enjoy at this restaurant. Keep them coming - I need more! Dip them in soy sauce and wasabi, and devour them. The tempura crunchy roll with eel sauce and spicy mayo is delicious. The sushi here brings me so much joy. I highly recommend trying the Crazy Dragon and King Dragon rolls. This is a great spot for lunch with plenty of seating and not too crowded. Don't miss out - I'll definitely be back! Enjoy, Boise.
On July 28, 2023, my friend KM and I went to Sushi Joy in Boise for dinner. We had been there a few times before, but it had been a while. We always had great food and service in the past. Sushi Joy has been open for 12 years. The original owners were from Boston, where they had a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. About six years ago, one of their chefs, Mr. Lee, took over the business, but the menu stayed the same. Sushi Joy does a fantastic job of offering two different cuisines thanks to their 5 chefs, including 2 sushi chefs, each with their own specialties. KM and I ordered 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, and dessert. We shared a Pu Pu Platter ($16.95) with egg rolls, Crab Rangoon, Chicken Fingers, Fried Shrimp, and Pork. Everything was fantastic! The General Tso's Chicken ($14.95) was crispy and delicious. The House Special Fried Rice ($13.95) was full of flavor. The Sizzling Green Pepper Beef ($14.95) was the only dish we didn't love because it was a bit too salty. The Walnut Shrimp ($15.95) was excellent. For dessert, we tried 4 flavors of Mochi Ice Cream ($11) and Lychee Ice Cream ($5.50). The mango and green tea were our favorites, but the vanilla mochi had a strange texture. Overall, our experience at Sushi Joy was so good that we both agreed we wouldn't need to go anywhere else for Chinese food. If you're in Idaho and craving Chinese cuisine, definitely give Sushi Joy a try! Highly recommended!
We loved everything we ordered. Lemon chicken was massive, pad Thai was yummyand the broccoli beef delicious. We also enjoyed the tempura vegetable sushi roll. The service was polite and attentive. The food came out very quickly and the restaurant was very clean.
This place is honestly a hidden gem in Boise. It kind of looks like a hole in the wall type place but the food is excellent and the staff is so friendly. The prices are also pretty good considering the cost of everything these days. I don't remember what exactly we order but we always love all the rolls.
