Gelato Shoppe Petrini - Boca Pointe

Finally, an authentic Italian gelato shop. They make it onsite. You can watch the chef make it too! I love the Gianduia and Tiramisu…..Also, they have the best coffee outside of Italy!

On Friday the 21st 2011, I went to The Gelato Shoppe for the first time! The place was completely packed! The waitress kindly told me there would be a wait. I decided to wait and am very happy that I did. Once i was seated the waitress took great care of me! She didn’t forget to bring a single thing i asked for even though she had a bunch of other people telling her what to bring them at the same time. She also made me one of the BEST coffees i have ever had! I ordered an Insalatone salad and it was one of the biggest salads i have ever ate. (also one of the most amazing). after i finished eating the waitress directed me to the gelato case where i received a free mini gelato that apparently comes with every lunch. It was the perfect guilt free desert. I had the gianduia flavor which is chocolate hazelnut and it was just delicious! if your looking for a friendly casual lunch/dessert place, I would recommend the Gelato Shoppe Petrini!

I found the product better than the attitude of the owners, and the product was ordinary at best. The body was too heavy, the flavors too sweet, and backends of artificial filled my mouth. Expecting a superior product may have been my downfall. Perhaps expecting a standardized formula like Dairy Queen or Carvel would have lowered the bar enough to make this satisfactory … for the price. A true disappointment.
