PRETTY LITTLE LATTESDid you know that coffee starts to fizzle out within two minutes of brewing, and after 15 minutes, it's considered past its prime by coffee connoisseurs and Sipsters alike. So, if you want to experience the full-bodied richness of your cup of Joe, get your coffee fresh from a roaster and drink it onsite. Now, let me drop some knowledge about coffee. Coffee cherries grow on small shrubs. The three main growing regions are all near the equator: Latin America, Africa, or Asia. Coffee is also grown in the US, with Hawaii taking the crown with its Maui beans. And Southern California has recently joined the caffeinated party as a domestic coffee grower. We've all heard of pricey coffee, but the most expensive coffee beans (at $200 per pound) are ones that have been processed in the bowels of an Asian wild cat. These furry felines dine on coffee cherries, and after digesting and eliminating them, the beans are collected from their waste. If that's too much for you because maybe you're a cat lover, there's a version of this coffee made the same way by Thai elephants, called black ivory coffee. For the truly adventurous, there's always monkey waste coffee. Call me a purist, but I like coffee beans picked directly from the plant and not from the GI tract.Who drinks the most coffee? The honor goes to Americans. We take the lead in coffee consumption, with Germany hot on our heels. Let's raise our cups to that! So, seize the moment and enjoy your pretty little lattes before they lose their sparkle! And remember, life is too short for lukewarm coffee.Pro tip: Located in downtown Oceanside next to The Switchboard, North County Roastery source and roast beans that result in a perfect coffee. They have it all: Beautiful Lattes, Espressos, Americanos, Cortados, Drips, and Cappuccinos.
We took quite a trek from our hotel to try this coffee place after dinner. We walked through the door a few minutes after 7pm on a Tuesday night. Hours found in multiple locations, including here on Yelp state they close at 8pm. We waited for a bit and finally a male employee from next door said someone would help us in a minute. A female came up behind him and said they were closed. I said your posted hours show 8pm. She said, Well, she 's not here. Then she flipped around and disappeared. We stood there, a bit shocked she was so rude, then decided to go elsewhere for coffee. We won 't make the mistake of walking to this business again. Even their website says they close at 8pm. Oh well. Plenty of other locally owned coffee places can be found in this area.
While looking for a good coffee found in Oceanside, we found the North County Roastery. We ordered a flat white and a chai latte. Both were brought to our table and tasted very good. The price was very cheap at $4 for the Flat White.I would recommend this cafe anytime.
Extremely good coffee (pour over Honduras). Breakfast sandwich good as well. Friendly staff
