Bidra med feedbackThe Beach was really nice not to mention they have a Beach Bar also! Well kept place that had people eating dinner on the Beach. Huge windmills right on the water. The Bathrooms smelled terrible reeking of Urine. Shower area was normal. I'll come back very soon though for a day trip!
Beach was beautiful jamming music and people were all well mannered and ready for fun. Life guards were on duty and alert. They were very watchful and continually used megaphone to reach crowd far out in water.
So, I feel like the title of Sole at Woodlawn Beach for the whole of the state park at Woodlawn is really deceptive. I have never (and have no future plans or desire to) patronized the bar that leases the food concession at the park, and only come for the beach and park grounds. That said, the beach is a huge expanse of really good sand, with dunes, a swimming area, and picnicing areas. It's a fabulous beach, only 10 minutes from downtown Buffalo, and it's never really too crowded. It's even nicer now that the beach bar has been removed, and there isn't the music blasting from it. Another recent change is that outside of the buffer zone around the swimming area people can access the water with boats, throw balls, splash, or enter the water to do the parasurfing on windy days. While people have this access, it's at their own risk, and let's the lifeguards really focus on keeping people in the swimming area safe.
We went to Solé at Woodlawn Beach for the first time, and It was an overall good time. When arriving, there is someone in a booth that charges you to park, which was $7. The parking lot was decent size and Nicely paved but very crowded. There is a Yellow building, you cant miss that has Bathrooms in the middle, Event area, gift shop and also The Solé Bar and Grill at the back which played live music, had cornhole set up and some seats in the sand to really give you that beach feel where you can enjoy your Drinks and food. There was plenty of seating and also seats at the bar and the staff was very polite. There was also a small Merch set up of Buffalo jerseys and clothing which was cool and just had a great atmosphere.. Food was pricey and small portioned but that comes with the Location being right on beach. To access beach you can go either side of the yellow building, and they have walk pads down to help you get to the beach and also a Ramp on the one side.. The beach has A lot of Rules which can be a Hassle to some, so I'd recommend reading them before going. Which smoking, vaping, Dogs, and Alcohol I believe were all Not allowed and there are plenty of police around to enforce this. There was also quite a bit of Large dead fish on the Beach shore which is never a great View but it was an overall fun and cool place to go to if you have never. I Would recommend.
Playing in more dirt at the beach than sand to be honest. There were dead fish, fish bones, and other things. We had to pick up a cut up pop can to avoid one of our kids stepping on it. The shower/bathrooms were very dirty right down to a used lad on the floor in the changing area. There were people changing out the garbages on the Beach and a very attentive life guard, but there are definitely some improvements on cleanliness to be made.
