Bidra med feedbackSeafood here very tasty. Definitely worth going back to. The prices are fair for the quality of food. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.
Impressive food taste and customer service. This food house has commonly seafood variations. People make a crowd here to get their loved recipe. I liked some of their dishes including Magic City Plate, Shrimp Platter, Snow Crab Platter, etc.
So, Magic City Krabs does have good food... when they are actually open and serving food. I haven 't been since they moved to a new larger location one of the reasons is because the hours of operation are sporadic and it 's too much of a hassle to determine if they 'll be open that day. Let 's get down to why the two stars. Magic City Krabs advertises different food specials during the first week of the new year. The Saturday, 1/4/2020 special was 2 clusters, 13 shrimp, 1 sausage, 1 egg, and potatoes for $18. Sold, can 't beat that deal right? I check the hours of operation to make sure that they are indeed open for business to see they close at 7 pm. Perfect, I arrive at 6:20 to lights off, and people mopping floors with a big closed sign on the door. I asked someone from the inside how are y 'all closed? It 's 6:20 to which she replied we ran out of food . A woman pulled up and stated they 've been running out of food a lot lately .. how?! How?? Why advertise specials only to run out of food? I 'm done. They received the second star simply because the food was good the one time I had it. However, I have no time to drive across town to be turned away. Never again. There are too many other good seafood restaurants in Birmingham to deal with this.
This place is really good! They're quick and accept call in orders. I've never actually dined in. Their food is well seasoned and delicious! I always get the crabs and sausage. The sausage is my favorite in town. This place is a must try if you love seafood like I do!
First visit here after hearing so much hype! I ordered the shrimp plate and added a snow crab cluster. It came with 10 shrimp, 2 potatoes and 2 corn. I did myself a disservice. I had some other stops to make so I didn't get to eat this hot. But even warmed... it was good! It had just the right spice. I especially enjoyed the potatoes and snow crab! Oh I forgot, I tried the gumbo too. It was fairly good, just a bit too much rice which soaked up all my broth! But it had large shrimp and sausage in it, that I loved. So, if I'm in the area and craving some good seafood, I'll be stopping by Magic City Krabs. And next time, I'll be sure to enjoy it while it's fresh and hot.
