Bidra med feedbackThis is the kind of place that reminds you of the show Cheers where when the regulars come in they know you by name. Our anniversary seems to always include Cajun/Louisiana food, so we decided to try somewhere new and found this location close enough to give it a shot. On arrival we were immediately greeted and told we could sit anywhere. After showing my wife the menu ahead of time she had already made up our mind what to get. We started with a cup of Grandma Donovan 's Seafood Gumbo that came with some fresh Gambino 's French bread. The gumbo was good, not the best I ever had but I would get it again. The bread was very good, a little garlic butter and lightly toasted would push it to incredible. For our entree we shared the Seafood Platter with French Fries, Jack 's Cajun Slaw, Catfish, Shrimp, Oysters, Hushpuppies and Onion Rings. All perfectly fried and wonderfully seasoned. We ended with an order of the Beignets which were good not great. Next time (and there will be a next time) will probably go with the bread pudding instead. The service was over the top great and made up for any of the simply good parts of the meal. Overall well worth the 30 minute drive from home but would love for them to open a location in Trussville or West Homewood so I could hear the bartender call my name as I walked in the door!
The food and service was amazing!! Blackened Catfish, gumbo and red beans and rice hot and fresh!!
With all due respect I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I didn't like. Everything is over cooked. My hush puppy was pretty much a deep fried golf ball. Absolutely will not be coming back
Great place, delicious food and awesome service. Can wait to ho back.
Came here on a recommendation, food was fresh and great. The seafood Gumbo had seafood in each bite. The po-boy's French bread was soft and airy, and the shrimp were fried fresh. Sarah was great as well had great suggestions for it being my first time, and was managing FOH by herself during lunch. Impressed and will be back.
