Bidra med feedbackWithout reservation, after a cinema visit in Neubrücke, we drove the Alt Birkenfeld Farm and were lucky to get the last free table in the lower part of the guest room. It was our first visit to this restaurant and certainly not the last. Ambience: The restaurant is located in a beautiful historical building from the middle of the 19th century. Century. Century. The former agricultural estate was built from 1989 to the Alt Birkenfeld farm after loving renovation, exterior and interior design by the Bebeniss gastronomic family. The cosy guest room offers space for 45 people on two levels. The old stone quads are to come from the former castle Birkenfeld, exposed “historical” oak beams, about partly plastered walls with clay, and all kinds of dishes and equipment from the “good old time” and the central old tile stove are a very comfortable atmosphere of well-being. The building was not honoured for free in 2011 as a “model object” in the district competition Birkenfeld. Service Mother Ursula Bebeniss in the kitchen ensures the health and well-being of guests, but he could look several times in the guest room to keep a chat with the guests and ask if everything is correct. The service and waiters are the responsibility of Monika's daughter, tonight without the support of other service staff, something in stress and not so attentive; we had to pay attention to drinks requests after the first order, “Here”. The service can be called “familiary” – you will be geduzt, hardly given us the menu with the question “You know what you want to drink?”. However, handling with the guests is not flap-shaped, but rather familiar uncomplicated and we liked it very much, you feel almost like a regular guest. The waiting times for drinks and food are very pleasant, the more amazing than the small restaurant was occupied to the last place and the cook also found the time to welcome one or other guest. Cuisine The menu offers all kinds of good-bourgeois cuisine, especially remarkable the variety of varieties of carving dishes such as wood chips, carvings with smoked meat and sauerkraut, or Schnitzel Wittelsbach, baked with pear and cheese, then there are still some appetizers, soups, attractive salad creations, Rag steaks and “Diverse Foods” such as homemade cheese. We chose Rumpsteak with fries and salad, once with herbal butter at €17.20 and once with pepper soaps at €18.20. At first we noticed that the additional salad was not served in advance, but at the same time with the steaks maybe because Monika was in use alone and could spare herself a second walk to the table. At the next visit we ask to bring the salad forward. The salad, a mixture of red beds, carrots and delicious fresh green salad, was delicious. The pommes, crispy golden brown in fresh oil, were completely destroyed. The herbal butter tasted and was probably homemade. Pepper sauce with many red and green peppercorns hearty, but not too piquant, perfectly matched with my steak. But what was not so (almost) convinced were the steaks themselves. For DAS perfect steak, the very good quality and safe enough long cut bovine steak with approx. 1.5 to 3 cm too thin and unevenly cut. So both steaks were exactly at the thickest place perfectly a point medium, tender and juicy. In a thinner place, even a little delicate, but here then rather moderately or even done and little juicy and a little aroma wax. The steaks (about 220gr) could have been a little bigger. If the meat had been cut more evenly and above all thicker into the pan, it would have been sufficient for 5 stars in this good preparation. So it is (only) good 4*, but I can recommend the Alt Birkenfeld Farm. We'll be back. Beverages: Kirner Landbier from Steinkrug 0.5l to 3.20 € and Kirner Pils 0.25l to 1.80 € Result: Good-bourgeois peasant cuisine at fair price. Urgent guest room and family service. Very recommended.
