Bidra med feedbackThe food is nothing special but expensive compared to many other places I’ve eaten in. Other than it right next door to a very nice hotel I haven’t got much to commend it. Perhaps super views over Bilbao would help justify the costs?? The time on here that says it’s open are not correct as it doesn’t officially open until 20.30hrs. Nice but could do better.
Restaurant was 50m from the hotel and although the website and google say they open all day, they don't. As is the case with lots of rural restaurants they open when they fell like it currently open between 14.00 and 16.00. Basic Anchovy salad and Chickpeas with lobster very tasty but had trouble finding the lobster. Mains were Monkfish and Hake, the presentation was certainly not good. The membrane had not been fully removed from my monkfish and the hake was basically half the whole fish cut down the backbone head and teeth still there. A decent wine to wash it down. The owner took our order and persuaded us to have what he recommended (fish). Unfortunately my wife was overfaced with the fish and left most of it. This upset the owner and he gave us a couple of brandies on the house to make up for it. The price and quality were not compatible, which is so different from my previous review of Txakoli Berriz.
Went there for dinner alone as I was in business in hotel next door. While waiting to order, a family next to me left the place and the owner was yelling at them. The two other tables also left. I was shocked, but stayed and had dinner. The owner was rude to me, the food was poor, badly cooked and a total disgrace to the Great Basque Cuisine. The owner insulted me when I left. All because I did not want a full 3 course meal, I just wanted a filet mignon. He charged me unreasonable so when I politely complainted he started cursing and yelling at me. This place should be closed and the owner sent to a Sanitarium. Avoid this place. Avoid this gentleman. A disgrace to Basque Cuisine and an disgrace to Chefs in the world.
Is a roaster with a nice terrace, correct meat and homemade desserts. service has seemed better / condescending. I also consider that prices are quite inflated (e.g. a bottle of zapiain cider at 12.5€ the interior dining room is a folio without windows and a bad ventilation, where a considerable and unpleasant humareda is mounted.
A very good experience. excellent service, special menu 10. the first has been of very good level and in terms of meat, amazing and very generous with the quantity. We're here for valence and we're all happy.
