While we ordered a drink from the bar, we casually mentioned that we thought it was weird they weren’t more busy. The bartender replied by saying that they can’t compete “with the lake.”First of all, I ordered a lemon drop and he told us they were out of sugar. Usually a lemon drop has a sugared rim. I actually don’t care if the rim has sugar or not, but my boyfriend was the one getting drinks and he wanted mine to be extra special since we were celebrating a birthday. There was sugar in a jar right next to the bartender and my boyfriend, having been certified in bartending previously, suggested dipping the rim of the cup in lemon juice and just pouring some of the sugar in the jar out onto a little plate and dipping the cup in it to make the sugared rim. No way. No how, the bartender just wouldn’t do it. The sugar had to come from “his machine.”Second off to bowl at this facility, it costs $40 an hour. We made it through a game and a half you can’t even finish a game if your timer runs out. $40??!!!!!! We actually ended up paying $53 for one hour of bowling and our shoe rental. On top of this, the gal behind the counter in the kitchen made sure to tell us that they were closing in 30 minutes when we first got there and when we were clarifying whether she meant only the kitchen or the whole facility she replied by saying “unfortunately not, just the kitchen” leaving us with the impression that she didn’t really want to be there. We came to celebrate my son’s 7th birthday, and while we did have fun bowling, they didn’t even offer to say happy birthday or offer us some kind of birthday incentive. I don’t think we’re entitled to that, but it would have been nice for us as we had never been there before and expressed from the very beginning that we were there for that. So, I’m sorry. This post is probably long winded and might sound like I’m complaining about little things, but as a local and native Montanan, I can say that I probably won’t be coming back here. We want to see establishes like this succeed but I think there’s bigger issues to work out than just “the lake.” Like maybe working on better customer service, catering to the customers that you do have by taking care of them, and instead of brushing off a birthday event as just another kid bowling and another buck made, at least wishing them a happy birthday instead of looking like you can’t wait for everyone to leave so you can go home.
Just grabbed dinner 8n the bar. nice atmosphere, clean and well layed out. food was really good so we will go again. recommend expanding menu a bit for more.selections
We are local so go occasionally. Nice bowling alley but what is up with $40 per hour?! It’s just bowling it’s not the valley’s greatest amusement park lol. We would go often if they offered some reasonable price to take kids and do family bowling but we’ll pass at a price like that! Also I do not recommend the food, they got the prices of a good restaurant but flavor and quality is bad.. just greasy bar food.
This place has had a complete make over in service, food, beverage and cosmetics. We make this place our go to to watch sports on the big screen, gaming for the wife and to switch up the Bigfork food scene. The food here people is way above normal bowling alley food, the menu just had a huge make over and we just tried it…. Yummm. These new owners really seem to care about the people that walk thru their door and it shows with their employees too and a shout out goes to Kat and Conner always there with a smile and eager to help.
