The Islander - Big Lake

Summer Fun! If you have a boat, that's the best way to reach this place in the summer, which is a favorite spot for locals from the island. The waitstaff is extremely friendly, and I had the best New York Strip steak I've ever tasted. The bar has a cozy atmosphere, and karaoke nights are a blast. It’s definitely worth a visit when you're in Big Lake. In the winter, you can also access it by car or snowmobile along the ice road, making for a unique culinary experience.

Great experience! I was visiting a friend and decided to write this review after remembering my previous visit for drinks. We noticed her food and opted to dine here instead of having a barbecue at home. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and steak bites, which we shared (but I definitely got the most shrimp!). My friends enjoyed their dinners, while I indulged in dessert—the chocolate cream pie made from scratch by the owner! My waitress was a delightful blonde lady; I've never had such friendly service before. While the food was good, it was her warmth that made the experience truly enjoyable. I was also impressed by how they manage their stock since we arrived by boat—that was pretty cool!
