The Barossa rib eye is great, though sometimes not as medium rare as medium rare should be. The crumbed pork cutlets are amazingly tender, and I have never seen a child not dive happily into the schnitzel. The beer is good too try the Köstritzer if you are into dark beer. Over all, the place is kinda loud, kinda kitsch, and very yum.
This restaurant used to be excellent, but things changed when the owner went on maternity leave. While the food is still good, the service from the waitresses has declined.
Delicious food, big servings. Went to dinner here in a group of 5, including 2 locals who recommended the place, and they sure weren't wrong! We had a mix of the garlic bread and pretzels for entree, which we nice, but we should really have just saved room for the main course. Along our table we had the pork knuckle, veal knuckle, chicken schnitzel, chicken vol au vent and veal oscar. Neither of the blokes came close to finishing their knuckle, it was like a dinosaur bone, the meat was deliciously cooked, but enormous. The chicken Schnitzel was also a really big serve, 2 large schnitzels plus veges and would have made 2 meals. The vol au vent and the veal oscar (with prawns) were a large but edible size. Mine was the veal oscar, which had plenty of veal, very tender and tasty, a few prawns on top and a creamy sauce (which overpowered the prawns a bit to be honest) and fried potatoes. All very nice. I was definitely too full for dessert. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the drinkers of German beers seemed happy with their choices. I tried to order a diet coke, which was on the menu as diet coke, but they actually only had coke zero, probably the only disappointment I could find!
I so wish I took a photo but I didn't... the chicken schnitzels were beyond tasty. It's the only thing I like from the menu. I'm not really into German food. You can't go wrong with a Schnitzel
This German restaurant is fantastic! I have visited three times in the past year and have always been pleased with the service and food. There was only one small hiccup with a new staff member, but the service was friendly and efficient overall. The schnapps, beer, and pork belly were all delicious and authentic. In my opinion, this is the best German restaurant in Sydney. The decor is cozy and reminiscent of a German cottage with a subtle touch of Oktoberfest. If you're tired of the typical Bavarian beerhouse chains, give Rhinedorf a try for a more authentic and satisfying experience. And don't miss out on the apple strudel, it's a must-try dessert for sharing.
