The Bookstore Speakeasy - Bethlehem

I went to this restaurant for a meal and drinks around 11pm on a Saturday night, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the band was at just the right volume to create a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was prompt and knew a lot about the over 60 drinks on the menu, and she was great at recommending something I would enjoy. The food came out quickly and was delicious, especially the creme brulee. I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem in the valley!

I highly recommend this restaurant! My friends and I had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. We tried the roasted cauliflower, pork, chicken, and lamb, all of which were fantastic. For dessert, we had the ice cream pound cake and cheesecake, both of which were so good we wished there was more. We loved the menu and enjoyed the entire experience. The prices were fair considering the great atmosphere, service, and food. It was definitely worth every penny. I suggest you check it out for yourself!

The Bookstore Speakeasy is every book lover's dream! The first time I was there, I was blown away by the decor, the ambiance, the service, and of course, the food/cocktails. The second time was for my 21st birthday and it was the best choice of a place to celebrate. I highly recommend it to all of my friends, both local and out-of-town. 5 stars from me!

We were a group of 6, in our thirties and forties who came for some after dinner drinks. Our server, Emily, was AMAZING ! Friendly, entertaining, happy, fast, everything you hope for! The drink list is extensive and a tad overwhelming, but all we had to do was tell Emily the type of liquor/drinks we like and she would consistently surprise us with some awesome concoctions. She even had the bartender make us some off menu drinks based on our preferences. There was live jazz which was great, and yes, it was dark and loud, but that just helped with the ambience. It was a little warm, its a smaller space, so dress in layers, so you can shed some when the alcohol hits! Excellent experience!!!

I had an incredible time here. It's funny, the lower reviews complain of it being dark, low lit, crowded, hard to find, etc., but lo and behold it's exactly what I would hope a Speakeasy would be. The experience of trying to find it was all part of the fun. The staff was awesome, engaging, personal. The drinks were out of this world. It was a mixed and diverse crowd, and of all ages. It wasn't loud like a club, it was personal and charming. As we left, well after midnight mind you, the hostess was Windexing an old mirror that sat by her desk. Even this seemed so great. Surrounded by old books, she smiled and wished us a good night. In the midst of the crazy world we live in these days, it was so nice to take a deep breath and relax. Haven't had this cool of an experience in a long time, can't wait to go back.
