Bidra med feedbackAs far as Subs go, this is definitely at the higher end of the spectrum. Your stuff isn't great, but it's so good that you get a quick bite at lunch.
I really enjoy sandwich spots, and this place uses fresh, high-quality ingredients. I've been here a few times, and it's more of an order-and-go kind of location, although there are a few seats available, and I've never seen it crowded. My favorite sandwich is the "South," which features goat cheese and chicken—absolutely delicious! They offer some customizable options, as well as a selection of pre-made sandwiches. The drinks here are quite interesting; instead of the usual Coke or Pepsi, they have a variety of sodas from a smaller distributor that adds a unique twist. I really appreciate this place for their generous sandwiches that are perfect for sharing with a friend, along with their quick service.
**Bensalem - $10 (3/5 NOM)** For those experiencing Hulk-level hunger, the Hulk Sandwich is a great choice! Sample some delicious Nomnom sandwiches in Bethesda, the foodie hub of the DC Metro area. I opted for the sandwich packed with the most meat—three types to be exact: Genoa Salami, Peppered Ham, and Roasted Pork. It’s loaded with toasted tomatoes, sweet provolone, and pepperoncini. This sandwich is quite thick and may challenge your jaw. Even a seasoned eater like myself found it a bit of a struggle. While the abundance of meat is satisfying, it did overshadow the other flavors, making it feel somewhat bland as if it needed a little something extra. Nonetheless, I’d still order it just for the meat!
Taylor Gourmet is a local sandwich shop in DC that seems to have lost some of its charm. Originally located on H Street NE, it now feels like there’s a location on every corner, even in the best suburbs like Bethesda. This particular location is just a few blocks from the Bethesda Metro, near Bethesda Row, and is quite spacious, featuring outdoor seating, as well as several small tables and window seats. On lovely days, they open up the walls, giving it a cool vibe reminiscent of Austin, Texas. The menu has expanded to include a variety of sandwiches and salads. I always recommend trying the Vine—a perfectly baked chicken sandwich with pesto, provolone, and prosciutto. It’s simply amazing! They also offer unique sodas and brew their own iced tea.
