Bidra med feedbackWe had an extremely disappointing experience at Guru Groceries. All items in the store are astronomically overpriced, and prices are not displayed properly for any of the items—charges seem to be whatever they feel like. The store is run by an older couple, and we visited along with my family to buy some paan (betel leaves) for my parents, who are visiting us from India. We were shocked when they charged $6 for just 10 pieces. At Patel Groceries, you get 25 pieces for the same price. Initially, they agreed to give us 25 pieces when they thought we would buy more overpriced items. However, when we didn’t, the lady—despite being from the same state as us—was unbelievably rude and refused to honor the deal, even though the leaves would spoil anyway. To make matters worse, they won’t tell you upfront that they charge extra for paying with a credit card, which is ironic since they should be covering those fees. This business practices a level of deceit and unprofessionalism that should not be tolerated. We appeal to the authorities to investigate whether this business is operating properly. We won’t be returning and strongly advise others to shop elsewhere, like Patel Groceries, where you’ll get better value and respectful service.
A high quality and range of frozen items, cooking ingredients, and snacks. Additionally, the owners are always friendly and you can feel their love whenever in the store. A+ across the board
Love this place for hard to find ingredients, especially whole spices. Everything is great value for the area (often better than you’ll find online) and the owners are helpful and friendly. The refrigerated and frozen sections in the back are worth a look I missed these on my first couple of visits but they have fresh chillies, curry leaves etc. at good prices. The fresh samosas they offer you at checkout are delicious. Highly recommend.
They were able to customize the homemade chaat based on my desired spice level, and were very friendly in assisting me with my order. Fantastic chaat and excited to try to the paneer makhani made in-house by one of the owners!
Avoid this business if you could… I should have heeded to the reviews left by other Indians customers about this business. The business is a total scam, unethical, and simply unacceptable. Most of the reputable and other good grocery stores have the prices of their goods displayed. This place is absolutely a sham. The prices are not displayed. The price of an item is not given on the phone. These are unacceptable good business practice. They charge whatever they feel like and the prices of the same item varies from customer to customer. Zero customer service…Instead came across, condescending, aggressive, and disrespectful. Avoid this business if you could…
