Shiso Burger - Berlin

Went there for a dinner on a Monday evening. Got seated at a very uncomfortable table and asked to change to only get offered eating at the bar. Considering a double burger that’s relatively small costs slightly under 20 euros, we refused and asked to...take another table that just was emptied, again to be refused and waiter told us she won’t be discussing it further. Despite asking twice to change tables and making it very clear we are not happy with the allocated table, the waiters didn’t offer to change to another table even when several emptied up. We spent just under 40€ for 2 standard size burgers, two beers and one portion of sweet potato strips/crisps. By the way, table we asked to be moved to, remained empty the whole time we ate and was still empty when we were leaving. Despite the burger being tasty, won’t be going back again probably.

We were recommended to try Shiso by family who had recently visited Berlin. The pitch of a Japanese burger joint didn’t strike me as an obvious winner. I was wrong, but Shiso wins because the food is phenomenal. We had the Shiso tuna burger and...a chilli lemon cheeseburger my partner tells me it was the best tuna burger he’d ever had, and the cheeseburger is definitely in my ‘up there’ for flavour and originality. The burgers are served in soft baked buns, and arrive in bamboo steamer baskets. Very aesthetic!

Great food, great place, very affordable. There’s a nice view on the kitchen from our table. I definitely recommend this place

The food was really tasty and fresh. I would be there 100% again and again. Some staff not wearing a mask and coughing and walking was a bit disturbing in Covid time. They have only one restroom and u gonna wait in queue for washing...ur hands( which is not a big deal cause the place is small too) We didn’t find any disinfection by the entrance(again in COVID time was surprising) The waitress was friendly and they are also kids friendly. Food is 10:10 Thanks!

We didn't eat in this restaurant, but the one that is in Alte Schönhauser Str. 13- which, for any reason, is not on Tripadvisor. The personnel is very friendly and accomodating. They serve burgers with an Asian twist: wasabi, kimchi etc. The food is fresh...and prepared super fast. Really enjoyed my dinner and still surprised by the tempura sweet potatoes. Will be back for my next stay in Berlin!
