Heroic Italian Berkeley

Best sandwiches. The toffee milk chocolate cookie is heaven.

We were here for my birthday dinner, we only had heroic italian through eating and loved it already! The restaurant experience was beautiful and we cannot wait to come back. who sat on an outside table with a heating, on request. that made me so special and showed how much she took care of from the beginning. the owner finally came to our table to check how our eating was and birthday wishes. at the end of our meal the server brought out a free tiramisu for my birthday, which tasted phenomenal. That was so nice. we were the only people who were fed there, it felt like my own private restaurant on a Friday night. I can't wait to get back! atmosphere: 5/5 service: 6/5 eat: 6/5 music: 5/5 we had the omg, the marinetti, the bruschetta, something wein and a soda. everything was phenomenal and we will come back soon!

Ah, winter and eating outside...which we did...as the inside is fairly limited...and because of my chemotherapy...I had to be in a more open space (the inside is fairly limited ..with the sun out there AND the heater...it was Ok..without the sun, would have been too cool..but overall ambience...lovely patio, really lovely and not a lot of noise...so great on that count The waiter was a lovely young man...just getting started in waiting...but his attitude and assistance...wonderful...he 'll be a gem very soon.. The food...was good. Not great...given that they open at 11:30AM and have only ONE breakfast item on their menu vs anything more 'brunch like this was a draw back..we had a PM curtain at Berkeley Rep and had trouble finding anything open before 5..but 'brunch ' would have been nice..: for $18 for a sandwich though...on the pricey side; and I had a salad with what would have been the pulled chicken sandwich IN the salad bowl (they were responsive in accommodating my request/nice! ...was very tasty...finally, one of us ordered lasagna..took a longer while to get it and was good, not great...and the Americano coffees...OK, machine made...not especially tasteful But I would go back easily on a warmer day..

The food was outstanding. We were there when the restaurant had just opened on a Sat. so things were just just getting going so probably not a good indicator of service generally. I would definitely return and tell friends to go as well.
